UAE to organize Pakistan’s biggest ever esports event

Galaxy Racers is holding the country's biggest-ever esports event in Islamabad. The event will feature a variety of console and PC titles, live music concerts, and meet and greet panels with famous content creators.

Galaxy Racer, a Dubai-based esports organization, is holding the country’s biggest esports event, “Gamers Galaxy,” on 8th-9th January 2022 in Islamabad.

Gamers Galaxy will be held at the Pakistan-China friendship center. The event would be the biggest esports event in the country’s history, with a prize pool of Rs20 million.

A growing global market

The event would be free to enter for the public. The first-of-its-kind event would feature a variety of console and PC titles. The event will also include meet and greet panels with digital content creators and live music concerts featuring famous musicians.

The event is expected to set the tone for the competitive gaming scene in the country. The channel Ten Sports will also air the event live from Islamabad in a first for audiences across the country.

This comes against the backdrop of a growing esports market in the country and a demand for competitive esports events. The burgeoning industry is approximately valued at $1.8 billion globally and is expected to grow at a rate of almost 24.4% in the forecast period 2020-2027.

There is an emerging esports market in Pakistan, a country with almost a hundred million broadband subscribers, which the Dubai-based company is looking to tap into.

Galaxy Racer has a global following of around 400 million, with the company’s content raking in over 2 billion views in a month.

The company holding the event had recently announced its partnership with Pakistan’s Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA). The esports organization is the first to invest in the government’s initiative, which aims to encourage foreign technology companies to invest in Pakistan.

Galaxy Racer had recently signed the country’s top Fortnite player, Nyle Hassan, in a bid to attract young audience. The company’s operations in Pakistan are headed by Fakhr-e-Alam, a celebrity entrepreneur who is CEO, Galaxy Racer Pakistan.
