The ‘Jab We Met’ couple is all set to come together for another one of Imtiaz Ali’s rom-com films. Ali is expected to sign Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor for his next film.
In his recent venture, ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ the director signed Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, however, the movie failed to do well at the box office and it was reported that Khan had to pay the distributors from his pocket to compensate for their losses.
When asked whether the rumours about the two reuniting after a decade were true, Shahid responded, “Imtiaz and I are working together but it’s not for Jab We Met 2.” As he did not mention anything about Kareena, it can be assumed that the ‘Padmaavat’ actor is open to the idea.

The director also shared his thoughts on his upcoming project, “Shahid and I want to do a film together and hopefully, we will. However, these things are only announced when the fine print is finalized. We’re not announcing anything yet as nothing has been confirmed. There’s no secret but I cannot say anything until I finalize certain things; we won’t issue a statement.”
When asked with Kareena if she’s doing the film, her answer was, “That thought hasn’t come to us yet. We’ve not come this far.”
However, a source informed that “The film kicks off in Mumbai in April and will be followed by an extensive shoot, both in India and abroad. At the moment, Imtiaz is still looking for a leading lady to be cast opposite Shahid for this rom-com.”
The last film both actors worked on together was ‘Udta Punjab’. Interestingly, both the actors did not share a single scene in the movie. It cannot be confirmed if this was done at the request of the two actors or because the characters were not destined to meet in the film.

Given that the two shared a romantic past and that things did not end well, it will be interesting to see if they get cast opposite each other in a romantic film.
