World leaders appreciate PM Khan for peace efforts

Prime Minister Imran Khan has been appreciated not only by South Asian journalists and celebrities but also by the world leaders. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made telephonic contact with PM Khan and praised him for his efforts to restore peace in the region.

Sources privy to the development told GVS that PM Khan took Erdogan into confidence over his peace efforts with India. It is important to note here that during the ongoing critical situation with India, Turkey has explicitly stated to stand by Pakistan in the hour of difficulty.

President UN General Assembly Maria Espinosa has also expressed grave concern over tension between Pakistan and India saying the solution to problems lies only in dialogue.

Moreover, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke to Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to reliable sources, during the telephonic conversation, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi felicitated PM Imran Khan on his speech at the Joint Session of Parliament and appreciated the prime minister’s desire to resolve issues peacefully like a true statesman.

UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres has also welcomed PM Khan’s announcement for releasing captured Indian pilot. Guterres said that the announcement for releasing Indian pilot is highly appreciable.

UN Spokesperson said that UN General Secretary has remained in contact with Pakistan and India at different levels. Both the countries and the international community should take steps for defusing tension.
