At least two killed, 12 injured in Balochistan’s Kohlu blast

A Friday explosion in Kohlu district’s main market in Balochistan left at least one person dead and 20 others injured.

Asghar Marri, the medical director of the Kohlu District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, reported that the hospital received more than 21 patients.

“One person has died while 10 patients are in critical condition. We have referred them to Dera Ghazi Khan,” he told.

Marri added that the remaining patients were being treated at the Kohlu hospital.

Balochistan Education Minister Mir Naseebullah Marri told Dawn.com that a medical emergency had been imposed at the hospital and timely aid was being provided to the injured people.

“If the condition of the injured worsens, they will be shifted to Multan,” he added.

Even though the scene of the incident was blocked off by police and other law enforcement officials, the nature of the blast‘s composition was still unknown.

In a statement, Mir Zia Langove, the Chief Minister’s advisor for housing, sharply denounced the explosion and asked the Kohlu deputy commissioner for a report.

Terrorists’ “nefarious aims” would not be let to be accomplished, he declared.

The “best possible treatment” for the injured was to be provided, according to Langove’s orders. Along with sending his sympathies to the families of the deceased and injured, the adviser did so as well.

Suicide blast in KP’s Mardan

Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan area have confirmed that a suicide bombing occurred on Friday afternoon in a rural neighbourhood.

No casualties were reported, according to Muhammad Ali Khan, the regional police officer (RPO) for Medan Division. Following his visit, he told reporters that the suicide bomber had indeed perished in the explosion.

According to the official, security had been increased in the area, and an investigation into the occurrence had been launched by the police and bomb disposal unit.
