CJP Mian Saqib Nisar reached Karachi this morning and made a surprise visit to three hospitals to check on the political prisoners.
At Dr. Ziauddin Hospital, where PPP MPA Sharjeel Memon is under treatment, CJP revealed that bottles of Alcohol and drugs were found.
After Ziauddin, Justice Nisar visited Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) where accused Hussain Lawai and Anwar Majeed are admitted respectively.
CJP reached the apex court’s Karachi afterward and told Attorney General of Pakistan (Anwar Mansoor) to take notice of items found in Memon’s room which Memon had claimed were not his.
Later, on Saturday, CJP, during the hearing of suo-moto case against PTI’s Imran Ali Shah for assaulting a citizen, said he wanted to teach Shah a lesson and ordered him to pay Rs3 million for the dams fund initiated by the Supreme Court. Shah tendered an apology to the court and said he was ashamed of his act. Chief Justice Nisar said that there would not be any compensation for such acts.
PTI’ Shah was seen slapping a citizen Dawood Chuhan, in a video that had gone viral on social media. PTI’s leadership took notice of the incident and issued a show-cause notice to Shah and fined him Rs 5,00,000.
