Engro Foods Limited has entered into a collaboration with JS Bank under the banner of Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan (PMYBL) programme to empower dairy farmers with financing facilities, a statement said last week. It is an initiative to build sustainable livelihoods for the dairy farmers through monetary support and knowledge transfers, it added.
Engro Foods dairy farmers will have the opportunities to upgrade their farms, procure machinery or livestock, with micro financing through JS Bank. Ali Ahmed Khan, managing director of Engro Foods Limited, said: “Engro Foods remains committed to empower the dairy farmers at the grass roots level. PMYBL Scheme is a great effort to increase sustainability of the dairy farmers who have zero access to financing solutions.”
The festival was closed by a prize distribution ceremony where Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, along with other notables presented winners of different games and the livestock competition with prizes.

JS Bank Group Head Corporate and Retail Banking Group Kamran Jafar said, “This agreement will serve as a development catalyst and increase financial inclusion nationwide. Last month, Engro Foods had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Greenland Zone, which provides farm machinery and financial assistance for the agricultural sector, Global Village Space earlier reported.

The objective of this collaboration is to enhance the productivity of dairy farms by facilitating the acquisition of modern farm machinery and equipment and imparting valuable training to the farmers for capacity-building, said a statement issued on 20th March.
Deployment of modern technology promises to be a game-changer for Pakistan’s traditional farming sector. This will ensure the production and distribution of quality milk for the masses, while increasing the profitability and prosperity of the agricultural sector too.

This alliance will enable Engro Foods and Greenland Zone to empower the local farmers, by guiding them towards farm-mechanization which in turn will lead to an increase in quality and quantity of diary production. Thus, the two organizations have pledged to nurture a healthy and prosperous society.
Engro will provide consultancy and deeper insights after evaluating the farmers’ technological needs. They will then recommend the right machinery needed for higher profitability for the farmers. Greenland Zone will then facilitate the acquisition, installation, training and maintenance of the recommended equipment.

On March 25th, in another show of preservation, Engro Foods showcased its presence at the Frontiers Corps Festival held to honour the Baloch heritage at the Kech Stadium, Turbat. The festival highlighted the heritage and culture of Baloch community. The festival’s opening ceremony showcased different sports, which were played over the course of the three-day event.
