Fawad Chaudhry slams Taliban’s hanging of two child abductors

Taliban's recent hanging of two child abductors has caused a storm on social media. Some users appreciated the Taliban for swift justice, while others claimed that it was a barbaric act. Fawad Chaudhry also condemned the act by saying, "Murders take place in 3 days, not justice.”

In a new tweet, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain criticized the Afghan Taliban’s recent hanging of two child abductors. His tweet was a response to a Twitter user lauding the Taliban’s quick decision. In the tweet, the user appreciated the Taliban and asked Pakistani courts to learn from them.

To which Chaudhry Fawad Hussain responded with, “Murders take place in 3 days, not justice.”

“Punishing the innocent in the justice system is worse than punishing the guilty. Justice is the name of the balance,” Fawad Hussain tweeted.

“Justice delayed is justice denied, but justice rushed is justice crushed,” he further added.

Recently, a disturbing clip of two men hanging in Afghanistan is making the rounds on social media. According to reports, the men allegedly kidnapped a child. On the complaints of the child’s father, the Taliban found the men and returned the child safely.

After the men allegedly confessed to the crime, the Taliban hung them in public at the entrance of Hemland’s Grishk district. As per reports, the entire process took three days.

Meanwhile, the Taliban’s decision to hang the men left Twitter divided.

Some Twitter users expressed their appreciation for the Taliban’s quick-serve of justice. According to them, the Taliban did the right thing as child abusers should never walk free.

However, most Twitter users called the hanging a barbaric act. They also claimed that the Taliban hung innocent civilians. They voiced concerns that such practices will once again become a norm in Afghanistan.

Life under the Taliban

Currently, the Taliban are swiftly taking over Afghanistan. With over 90% of areas under Taliban control, there are serious concerns of Afghanistan going back to its previous dilapidated conditions.

As a result, neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, fear a terror spillover.

The Taliban are notorious for their strict Islamic laws. Under the Taliban, death sentences are common and women face severe hardships.

According to a May US report, Taliban rule in Afghanistan would risk undoing the gains made in women’s rights. As per the report, the Taliban’s fundamental Islamic ideologies have not changed.

There are fears that the Taliban may prohibit women from working and studying, for instance.
