Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry gains popularity for his interviews in major media outlets. His strong words and quick retorts received mass traction on social media.
Recently, Fawad Chaudhry took a strong stance against media outlets and called them out for spreading false information. In an interview with a leading media outlet, Fawad Chaudhry directly said their organization creates an “international conspiracy”. It also spreads fake news about the government.
“Unfortunately your newspaper actively participates in an international conspiracy hatched to malign Pakistan,” Fawad Chaudhry said to the news anchor interviewing him.

Fawad Chaudhry said issues like freedom of expression and FATF are unnecessarily highlighted in a bid to ‘activate’ international regulators.
“Such issues are deliberately hyped to show that things are bad in Pakistan,” the minister said. He also said many anchors go on a rant without providing an accurate analysis based on credible sources of information.
Regarding this, in another interview with another leading news outlet, Fawad Chaudhry schooled anchorpersons for asking vague questions. He also accused them of not working hard.
“You guys should also work hard,” Fawad Chaudhry said.
In response to this, the news anchors defended themselves and said they are actually doing their job. However, Fawad Chaudhry again responded strongly.
“This is your misunderstanding. Don’t consider yourself better than others,” the Minister warned.

Asad Umer received 26.5% owing to Pakistan’s remarkable handling of the Covid situation. Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood received 23.9% (perhaps students voted for him due to the frequent closure of schools!). Finally, Hammad Azhar received a respectable 18.8%.
The polling scales tipped in Fawad Chaudhry’s favor due to his recent interviews, making him Pakistan’s favorite. While people appreciated Fawad Chaudhry, they also noted that all of the ministers are doing a good job.
