Sources revealed that the former prime minister, currently detained in Adiala Jail, refused a meeting with Sher Afzal Marwat, who had arrived to see him. The purported reasons for Khan’s displeasure include Marwat’s statements regarding Saudi Arabia’s alleged involvement in the PTI government’s downfall and his meeting with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

Additionally, Marwat’s nomination for the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was reportedly withdrawn.

Notably, PTI’s political committee had approved Sheikh Waqas Akram’s candidacy for the PAC chairmanship.

He asserted that Imran Khan had not altered the decision to appoint him as PAC chairman, claiming that Khan’s supposed decision to nominate someone else hadn’t been communicated to the PTI’s political committee. Marwat mentioned his absence from the committee meeting and the omission of the PAC chairmanship matter from the agenda.
