In an interview with BBC World News Mahira Khan says that it is just a matter of luck that she has never faced harassment in her entire career.

She believes that she has gotten lucky with the people she has worked but mentioned that she has in fact worked with very few people.
She stated that conduct is not one of the factors that contribute to rape and harassment.
“It does not matter how I conduct myself or whatever I wear or how I speak or where I sit or what I do. That does not allow anybody to harass me”
She further added “So I am not gonna say I had a ‘good conduct’ or a ‘certain conduct’, and that’s the reason I wasn’t harassed. No, that would be a wrong answer.”
She articulately spoke on the recent wave of sexual harassment in Hollywood and also put forth her own views and opinion.

She said that perhaps all the women in Hollywood or elsewhere who are harassed are in some ways vulnerable and lack the power to fight back. She pointed out that, predators go after girls that are much younger and more vulnerable.
“They may not be in a position to speak up or speak out”.
While shedding the light upon her own journey, she said that she started acting at a relatively older age than her peers, after she became a mother. Perhaps that made her less vulnerable as she may have been as a teenager.
Khan in her next movie “Verna” plays the role of a rape survivor who pledges to take revenge against the men who destroyed her.

Regarding her role in “Verna”, the actress said that her character in the movie is a fearless woman who will courageously fight back. In the movie, she is just the kind of woman who does not have fear in her DNA. This woman isn’t moping or weak at all.
These days, the actress is busy promoting the movie with her co-actor Haroon Shahid. The movie will be released on November 17th, 2017.
