Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme: NADRA Received 1.6 million Applications Since Extension

As PTI embarks on its another election manifesto, people of Pakistan have given an overwhelming response to flagship project of providing homes to lower-income and middle-income groups on easy installments.

Over 1.6 million applications have been received since the launching of the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme by the current government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

The NADRA spokesperson says, the housing scheme has garnered a positive response from the public and is in full swing across the country. To facilitate the people, the deadline for the registration process was extended for a month from October 15 to November 15, 2019.

Premier Imran Khan had inaugurated Naya Pakistan Housing Program for the lower-income groups. They will be provided homes on easy installments.

“So far, more than 1.6 million applications have been received from across the country,” said a Nadra spokesman.

He said the number was over 1.4 million on Oct 15 when the date for the registration had been extended till Nov 15.

NADRA official told that the application from Lahore districts had jumped from 150,255 to 179,055 during the period. While the number of applications received from different districts of Karachi soared to 122,358. Nadra further informed that an overwhelming response came from Multan where the number of applications reached 65,345 from 47,802.

The number has increased from 44,786 to 51941 in Bahawalpur district and from 34,484 to 39,555 in Peshawar district.

“The registration process under the housing project is in full swing across the country and applications are being submitted from all areas in big numbers,” the spokesman added.

How to Submit an Application?

NADRA spokesperson said that the applicants can register themselves through its e-sahulat franchise networks as well as through its online facility on its website. Meanwhile, the registration form is available on the NADRA website, which is to be filled and submitted to the nearest NADRA facility along with Rs.250.

For residents of Karachi, the registration facility is also available at the Defence Housing Authority center, North Nazimabad center, and Liaquatabad center.

PM Khan had launched the second phase of the registration for Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in mid-July this year. He also launched the web portal through which the applicants can file their requests while sitting at home.

At the launching ceremony, the prime minister had said that the cabinet would approve necessary legislation to enable commercial banks to extend the facility of loans to those who could not afford to buy a house.

A few days ago, CM Punjab Usman Buzdar had approved the budget of Rs500 million for the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHTPA) for swift execution of PTI’s flagship project Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme.
