Palestinian students reach Pakistan to pursue medical education

Dr. Mukhtar asserted that Palestinian students will be provided with the best food and accommodation facilities. On October 14, the first batch of twenty-seven Palestinian medical students from Gaza arrived in Lahore to continue their studies in Pakistan.

The second batch of Palestinian students reached Pakistan to continue their studies on Friday. According to the NIH spokesperson, Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Health Dr Mukhtar welcomed the guests at Islamabad International Airport.

The arrival of Palestinian students is part of the program initiated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to help students continue their studies affected by the ongoing war in Gaza. Palestinian students have reached Pakistan to complete their medical and dental education.

Dr. Mukhtar asserted that Palestinian students will be provided with the best food and accommodation facilities. On October 14, the first batch of twenty-seven Palestinian medical students from Gaza arrived in Lahore to continue their studies in Pakistan.

Students reached Pakistan through an international airline from Istanbul from where they were shifted to a hotel under tight security. Officials of the Pakistan Embassy from Cairo and members of Al-Khidmat officials facilitate the travel arrangements of Palestinian students to Pakistan. Pakistan Medical and Dental Association has approved the students of Gaza to complete their education in Pakistan.

192 students from Gaza will continue their studies in Pakistan. Students in Gaza are being heavily affected by the war and indiscriminate bombing by Israel that has sabotaged the entire infrastructure of Gaza including residential spaces, health care facilities, and educational institutions. People in Gaza are internally displaced and are forced to live in refugee camps. The war-torn Gaza Strip is facing an acute shortage of water, food, and medicines.

The deadly onslaught in Gaza by Israeli Occupational forces has continued for a year now. The death toll in Gaza has crossed 42,000. In the latest development, Israel has killed Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas Chief, who took over the organization are the assassination of Ismael Haniyeh in Iran in August. Israel claims Yahya Sinwar to be the mastermind of the October 7th, 2024 attack on Israel.
