Trump Says Israel Would Have Been ‘Eviscerated’ Without His Support

President Trump and Vice President JD Vance criticize Israeli officials amid disagreements over negotiations with Iran.

Israel would have been eviscerated if it were not for Donald Trump, says the U.S. President Donald in in his latest interview with the Axios news. Trump underscored the critical Washington’s political support for the Israel amid the ongoing regional tensions and the fragile talks with Iran.

The statements come a day after U.S. Vice President JD Vance had lashed out at Israel and its cabinet ministers for attacking U.S. President Donald Trump for the Washington’s continued support for the ongoing negotiations to sign a peace with Iran.

Vice President JD Vance sharply criticized members of Israel’s government, accusing some officials of failing to appreciate U.S. support and making inflammatory remarks against the Trump administration. Vance argued that Israel remains heavily dependent on American backing and warned that some Israeli politicians were misreading the current geopolitical reality.

“We’re the ones with the guns. We’re the ones with the whole deal. We’re the ones with the B-2 bombers, et cetera,” said Trump in the interview.

When asked about the current relations with Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, he said, “it’s good, but we have to keep him a little bit sane.”

Trump was also asked if he would stop Israel from attacking the Lebanon. “Yeah, I will be. They have a lot of respect for me, and they do as I say.”

In the past few days, Trump administration has explicitly demonstrated its frustration with the Israel who have been potentiallty obstructing a peace deal between Tehran and Washington through its continuous and relentless attack on Lebanon. Iran has called for the peace in Lebanon as a prerequisite for the negotations to continue.

Israeli ministers are openly trashing the negotiations efforts made by both sides brokered by Pakistan and Qatar to bring the an end to this war.

“Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time,” Vance said during a a news briefing at the White House. “The problem for Israel is not Donald J. Trump, and anybody in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is the president of the United States needs to wake up and smell the reality of the situation that country is in.”
