Aamir Khan praises legendary actor, Moin Akhtar

India’s legendary actor, Aamir Khan, revealed his admiration for the late Pakistani actor, Moin Akhtar. He expressed his views to Pakistan’s Senator, Mushahid Hussain, as the two met in Beijing, China, while attending the First Asian Civilisation Dialogue hosted by Chinese President, Xi Jinping.

In a tweet published on Wednesday, Hussain wrote: “Good meeting with the legendary Indian movie icon, Amir Khan, who is also in Beijing for the first Asian Civilisations Dialogue, hosted by President Xi Jinping; Amir Khan’s movie ‘Dangal’ is a big hit in China, he says ‘I am a huge fan of late Moin Akhter, an amazing/talented actor’!”

Aamir Khan further praised the star of the classic show ‘Loose Talk’ adding that he believed Moin Akhtar was an amazing, supremely talented actor.

Moin Khan, one of the pioneers of Pakistan’s entertainment industry passed away on 22nd April 2011. An exceptional actor, Moin Akhtar redefined his status as a subtle performer in the satire talk show ‘Loose Talk’. The program was hosted by celebrated writer Anwar Maqsood while Moin Akhtar played the role of people hailing from various notable professions of the society.

The duo of Maqsood and Akhtar had produced hit television numbers including Studio 2½, Studio Poney Teen, Half Plate. Not only on TV screens, but Akhtar also acted out in a few films, including Tum Sa Nahin Dekha and Mr. Tabedar.

Akhtar’s theatrical performances with comedian Umar Sharif, in stage dramas like Buddha Ghar Pe Hai. also found commercial success. Akhtar, later in life was honoured with Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Pride of Performance award by the government of Pakistan for recognition of his work.
