Azhar Ali, captain of Pakistan cricket team has likened cricketer Fawad Alam to popular character Ertugrul Gazi after scoring a century in the first test match against New Zealand.
Fawad had scored a century in an international match after 11 years. Ali shared a collage of Fawad’s century celebrations and Ertugrul Ghazi ready for the battle in a click from the serial. Azhar Ali said that the batsman has the “heart of a lion.”

Alam cheered a smile on the face of his teammates and his fans back home who had been criticizing his exclusion from the team for 11 years. Alam had first scored a century in 2009 during his debut against Sri Lanka. However, Alam was dropped after a few failures against New Zealand. He came back into the team when Babar Azam was given the rest due to a thumb injury.
In a post-match video, Fawad Alam credited Azhar Ali for providing continuous support to him. “During a four-day game, Azhar Ali and I had a discussion. He told me if I get a century, this is how I should celebrate it,” said Fawad. “Maybe God granted his wish. And I remembered what he had told me. So, this celebration was for him,” said Alam.
Fawad Alam said that the team was at a difficult team and was desperately in need of a stable partnership. . “I tried to apply myself here and thankfully succeeded. We had discussed to play session by session and fight it out and not accept defeat,” said the cricketer.
Alam heaped praise from fans for never giving up in tough circumstances. Twitteratis asserted that Alam lived up to his expectation after making a comeback in the team following a long hiatus of 11 years owing to public demand. Alam proved his selection in the team. With his resilient attitude, Alam proved his mettle and provided crucial support to the team.
