Dream of Hammad Raza, a 14-year-old thalassemia patient from Dera Ghazi Khan was fulfilled when District Police Officer Asad Sarfraz handed over the boy his office for a day.
Raza had expressed his wish to serve as the DPO for a day; living up to his expectation DPO Sarfraz escorted the child with complete protocol in tow. Dressed up in a mini-police uniform Hammad Raza toured the city as the DPO, locals showered the child with petals.

He was later taken to the DPO office where he was welcomed with Guard of Honour, later paid homage at the monument of martyrs of Police. He also sat on the DPO’s chair, while Asad Sarfraz was seated beside him in the office served as the Additional DPO for a day on Monday.
The police officer in question Station’s Sub-Inspector Tahir was seen grabbing a girl’s arm aged between 4-7 years and tossed her harshly onto the ground.
Raza expressed his delight and thanked Punjab Police for fulfilling his dream while Hammad’s father also expressed his gratitude and asserted he felt proud of watching his son in a police uniform. DPO Sarfraz asserted he feels honored and privileged to bring a smile on his face. He wished him recovery and hoped that Hammad Raza would one day serve the police force.
DPO Asad Sarfraz is an acclaimed and widely respected police officer of Punjab Police. His videos of sharing heart-warming gestures with children often have made rounds on social media.

His video of consoling the little daughter of Shaheed Naik Taimur Aslam touched the hearts of social media users. While consoling the child, DPO Sarfraz could not hold back his tears and cry along with her. Previously served as the DPO Khanewal, people protested his forced transfer to Dera Ghazi Khan last month. Social media users even demanded his transfer to Kasur, since they deem him capable of controlling the child abuse menace.

DPO Sarfraz even jailed his SHO when a video of him manhandling a child made rounds on social media. The police officer in question Station’s Sub-Inspector Tahir was seen grabbing a girl’s arm aged between 4-7 years and tossed her harshly onto the ground.
DPO Sialkot at that time condemned the behavior of SHO and asserted “The police officer in question has been suspended,” he said, adding: “Disrespect shown by any person in uniform towards the public will not be tolerated.”
