According to the details of a document sent to 3rd parties, the embargo for the official reveal ends at the end of May, meaning the reveal would soon follow.

GVS had done some research last week of April on what the new car would entail based upon the information from a Japanese forum and a Kurdistan_Automotive_Blog on Instagram.

Here is some old Information we already had

According to the leaked photos earlier, off-roader’s styling headlined by an upright front end with a rectangular grille, surrounded by LED headlights and a vent-like trim section around the main grille’s lower edges.

Exterior

The SUV’s new-generation model features a large rectangular chrome grille surrounded by a U-shaped intake, revised bumper, and slimmer headlamps at the front end.

The side soft curves have been replaced by sharper creases. The door-mounted mirrors, more pronounced wheel arches, and the updated greenhouse area appear to be inspired by Land Cruiser Prado. A few changes have also been made to its rear section.

Interior

A handful of its interior pictures were leaked in February 2021. According to them, the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser gets a new multi-spoke steering wheel and digital instrument console.

The infotainment system is getting a major update in the form of a new and bigger 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system supporting the latest smartphone connectivity.

The SUV reportedly will be featuring automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, connected car technology, wireless phone charging, an electronic parking brake, and a push start/stop button with a fingerprint scanner.

There might be physical buttons for differential lock, lane support, 4WD mode, and adaptive cruise control.

Engine

Engine details of the new 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser are still veiled. However, the SUV is reported to come with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 petrol hybrid engine that is found in the Lexus LX500 sedan. The motor pushes out a healthy power of 416bhp and 600Nm of torque. It might also get a 3.3L, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor.

Transmission duties are likely to be performed by a 10-inch torque convertor automatic gearbox. The new Land Cruiser will come with the 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system with a low-range transfer case.

In select global markets, the SUV’s new-generation model could be offered with a new 2.8L, 4-cylinder common rail diesel engine that’s good enough for 200bhp and 500Nm of torque.

Safety

According to a Japanese publication creative311, the car will have safety features including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, traffic-sign recognition, and automatic high-beams.

Some information from the new blog

According to the information on the motor1 blog, the company will sell the Land Cruiser ZX and GR-S with a 3D Multi-Terrain Monitor system featuring an underbody camera. Both trims are also coming with a washer for the rearview camera, albeit the image included in the leaked internal document shows a dusty LC200.

Four-zone climate control and a head-up display will be offered on the higher-end trim levels.

The ZX version will be the most luxurious version of the bunch, complete with chrome accents and 20-inch wheels along with wood trim and leather upholstery. Only the top-spec model will get a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 11.6-inch touchscreens.

The GR-S will adopt different bumpers and grille as well as 18-inch alloys and a carbon-effect trim inside the cabin. Both flavors will share 12.3-inch infotainment and a 14-speaker JBL sound system.

Also, the information revealed shows that there are no V8s, but the behind landcruiserupdates account on Instagram got a hold of the table showing the two engines Toyota will be offering at launch. Without further ado, a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 gasoline unit will deliver 409 horsepower (305 kilowatts) from 5,200 rpm and 480 pound-feet (650 Newton-meters) of torque between 2,000 rpm and 3,600 rpm.

But according to the Motor1 latest blog, the engines are much more powerful than the V8, so there is no need to worry!
