Left smoking and drinking addictions after COVID-19: Behroze Sabzwari

The actor said he left these after 50 years after realizing that these habits could potentially cost him his life. During the conversation, he disclosed his addictions with smoking and drinking.

Veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari says he left smoking and drinking after suffering from COVID-19. He was in a conversation in a podcast with Nadir Ali and spoke about life, career, and journey.

During the conversation, he disclosed his addictions with smoking and drinking. The actor said he vowed to leave these addictions after he suffered serious COVID-19. He said he left these after 50 years after realizing that these habits could potentially cost him his life.

“I have left this thing, Allah has his special blessings upon me, I did this for 50 years. I was detected with severe COVID I was in ICU for Thirteen days, I was on permanent oxygen, and only paramedical staff was allowed. I got closer to Allah and I promised Allah I will quit this 100% I left everything, I left it at once” said Behroz Sabzwari.

The actor said he faced difficulties in the beginning but persevered through his determination and faith in Allah.

“Yes, I used to crave smoking but I used nicotine patches for that. You need willpower for that and the basis of willpower is faith in Allah,” said the actor.

The actor is appearing in several drama serials. He receives praise for his performances. In the same interview, he talked about the increasing vulgarity in drama serials by female actors. The actor denounced the increasing trend of vulgarity in present-day serials.

“Yes, I am against all of this but I am also acting in these dramas and that’s the bitter truth. In these narratives, sisters are having affairs with their brothers-in-law. I don’t like these scripts and watching them with family is absurd to me. I mean what is this nonsense, is there no other subject left to explore for writers?” lamented Sabzwari.
