Masood Azhar: Indian media making a fool of itself, again

News Desk |

The Indian media has emerged as fallacious and at the lowest of Journalistic ethics in the recent India-Pakistan escalation crisis. In its latest baseless report, the Indian media is hysterically claiming that Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar has passed away.

A faction of the more delusional Indian media claimed that Maulana Masood Azhar died in the supposed air strike where Indian Air Force jets dropped their payload on trees, while another faction is claiming that he died of liver cancer that he had contracted a few years ago.

The Indian media has emerged as fallacious and at the lowest of Journalistic ethics in the recent India-Pakistan escalation crisis.

Indian media reports claimed that the head of the banned organization died on March 2.  However, sources close to the JeM chief’s family said he is alive. Senior Journalist, Anchorperson and commentator Hamid Mir tweeted: “Masood Azhar is still alive some people only want him to come on media and say “India is again wrong.”

Michael Kugleman, a South Asian commentator based in the US tweeted: “The death of Masood Azhar, head of JeM, is the latest *unconfirmed* big development in the #India#Pakistan crisis. Striking that this news emerges now when there’s growing pressure on Pakistan to rein in JeM. But then again he’s been reported to be very ill for quite some time.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi while speaking to a private news channel said that he had no information regarding Azhar’s death. A few days earlier, Qureshi during an interview had said, “He [Masood Azhar] is in Pakistan according to my information. He is very unwell. He’s unwell to the extent that he cannot leave his house. That’s the information I have.”

“If they [India] give us evidence which is acceptable to the courts of Pakistan, after all, we will have to justify, they [JeM] will go to the court. And if they [India] have solid inalienable evidence share it with us so that we can convince the people and we can convince the independent judiciary of Pakistan,” Qureshi replied to a question on Pakistan arresting Masood Azhar.

It is believed that since leaders of BJP itself are now questioning Prime Minister Modi about the success of the so-called surgical strike 2, to avoid the humiliation and failure not only in India but also in international community, the fake news of Masood Azhar’s death is being circulated to claim that India did achieve the set target.
