MQM leader Rauf Siddiqui ties the knot

Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Rauf Siddiqui tied the knot with the daughter of Afaq Khan, Mahnoor in a Nikkah ceremony held in Makkah. This is reportedly Siddiqui’s first marriage at the age of 57. The simple Nikkah ceremony was presided by Abul Manaf.

Dignitaries from MQM and Saudi Arabia attended the Nikkah ceremony including Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Abdul Haseeb, MQM Saudi Arabia organizers Kafeel Siddique and friends. According to the sources the reception of MQM leader and the former provincial minister will be held on April 13th in Karachi. Several political leaders and other dignitaries from Karachi have extended their warm wishes to the couple.

Rauf Siddiqui is already booked in Baldia Factory fire case that led to the death of around 230 workers in the factory. Despite being booked in the case, ATC has exempted Rauf Siddiqui from appearing in the case hearings.

Rauf Siddiqui has held important positions in MQM and has served as the member of Sindh Assembly from MQM since August 2013. He remained a member of the Sindh provincial cabinet in various positions between 2002 and 2012. He is the active member of the party who has several times played the role in settling the intra-party disputes.

Irum Azeem Faroqui, the former member of MQM has accused MQM leaders of sending marriage proposals to young girls while he was in the United States. She also remarked that she filed a complaint against Amir Khan for his inappropriate behavior. Currently, another MQM leader, Mujahid Baloch is facing investigation on a sexual harassment case filed by a girl who claimed Baloch harassed her in a hotel room.
