Pakistani Twitter reacts to Notre-Dame Cathedral fire

The Pakistani Twitter space is brimming with messages of solidarity with the people of France after a devastating fire completely destroyed the 850-years old traditional Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

The cathedral caught fire on Monday late afternoon. The fire that got under control after 9 hours has been termed a catastrophe that has sent the shockwaves around the world.

Irrespective of the religion, people have been mourning and expressing solidarity with the people of France throughout the world. Under the initial investigations, the reason for ablaze has been declared the mighty restoration project of the cathedral that was underway. French President Emmanuel Macroon has expressed his sorrow over the incident and announced to rebuild the cathedral.

It was painful to even for the birds to watch history on fire it was not just a building but a symbol of French culture which was built in 200 years no doubt its a great loss.

Meanwhile, Pakistani twitter space also stepped forward to express their sorrow over the unpleasant incident. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressing his regret stated, “Deeply saddened by the devastating fire at the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. For centuries, it has been a revered place of worship for Catholics around the world. We share their grief & hope that the resilient people of France will be able to restore it to its past glory.”

Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry also shared his two-cents on the incident and tweeted, “Our thoughts and Prayers are with people of France, Norte Dame Cathedral belongs to human heritage, the pain of this tragic incident is felt by everyone .. Pakistan Stands with People of France in this hour of grief….”

Senior journalist Hamid Mir also expressed his views and stated, “It was painful to even for the birds to watch history on fire it was not just a building but a symbol of French culture which was built in 200 years no doubt its a great loss but I am sure brave people of France will overcome this tragedy and rebuild Notre Dame in Paris one day.”
