PIA left 50 passengers at Jeddah Airport

The flight was scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Sunday, carrying mostly the Umrah pilgrims, however, a few passengers had to be left behind due to capacity issues in the plane. A special plane was arranged today to bring them back, said the PIA spokesperson

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) left 50 passengers stranded at Jeddah Airport after a capacity issue on a smaller aircraft. The flight was heading from Islamabad to Jeddah.

Passengers were provided with accommodation and basic facilities in a nearby hotel, while arrangements were to bring them back to Pakistan.

The flight was scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Sunday, carrying mostly the Umrah pilgrims, however, a few passengers had to be left behind due to capacity issues in the plane. A special plane was arranged today to bring them back, said the PIA spokesperson.

Meanwhile, the flights from Jeddah to Lahore and Karachi are also facing suspected delays leaving passengers frustrated and angry.

Plane (PIA flight PK-732) coming from Jeddah to Karachi was delayed for over 4 hours. This plane was supposed to keep flying to Islamabad as flight PK-300, but there just wasn’t a plane available on time. Another flight (PK-300) leaving at 7 am from Karachi to Islamabad also got delayed for hours. All these delays show that both passengers and the airline (PIA) are having a rough time. The airline needs to get better organized and communicate clearly to avoid making travelers wait so long.

PIA is lately in the news for some other reason. Earlier this month, Canadian Authorities recovered ice from the joggers of the arrested PIA air hostess Hina Sani. She was in detention in Canada after several passports of unrelated people were recovered from her possession.

Hina Sani has been detained and is awaiting a local court appearance. She is yet to be granted bail. She has also named two other PIA officials stationed at Toronto Airport- Jameel and Faiza Javed.

Canadian Authorities reportedly questioned both the officials late at night. They are alleged to be involved in the case. Apparently, she was re-arrested following her release. PIA spokesperson also confirmed her arrest. Hina Sani was already receiving warnings from Canadian Authorities.
