Prime Minister Khan & First Lady Perform Umrah before 14th OIC Summit

Prime Minister Imran Khan, accompanied by his wife Bushra Bibi and influential cabinet minister, left for KSA a day prior to his 3-day visit to perform Umrah and offer prayers at the Majid-e-Nabvi.

Prime Minister Imran Khan performed Umrah alongside his wife, Bushra Bibi, during his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 14th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

PM Khan was accompanied by a delegation of advisors, and cabinet members, including Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister KPK Mehmood Khan, KPK Minister for Tourism, Culture and Youth Affairs Atif Khan, Special Assistant to PM Khan on Special Affairs Naeem-ul-Haque, and Senator Faisal Javed Khan amongst other politicians.

Prime Minister Imran arrived in Medina a day prior to his official three-day engagements in Saudi Arabia so he could pay his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (SAW) and offering Nawafil prayers at the Masjid e Nabwi. He was accompanied by First Lady Bushra and a high-profile delegation of his imminent cabinet members.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, alongside his cabinet ministers, was also spotted offering Asar prayers in Masjid-e-Nabvi.

During his pilgrimage, PM Khan prayed for the peace and stability of Pakistan, and to strengthen the unity of Muslim brotherhood across the world. On Friday, the Prime Minister offered Friday prayers in the Masjid-ul-Haram.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, Pakistanis and PTI-supporters can’t fawning over PM Khan’s romantic gesture of holding his wife’s hand as they perform the rituals of Ummrah. One Twitter user even likened it to “real love”.

The Premier is in KSA to represent Pakistan at the 14th Summit of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), titled, the “Makkah Summit: Together for the Future”, hosted by Saudi King Salman to bring the Muslim world on the same page with regards to ongoing conflicts.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will put forward a discourse on the urgency for unity and solidary across the Muslim world, and raising support for marginalized Muslim communities, particularly the barbaric treatment of Muslims in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.

PM Khan will also highlight the need to combat the burgeoning surge of Islamophobia, and cooperation on educational and scientific fronts.
