#PTIOwnsKarachi trends as PM Khan delivers his promise!

The PTI government is being lauded on social media as pictures emerge showing various road constructions taking place in Karachi. The constructions are part of the Karachi Transformation Plan.

PTI government is garnering praise on social media for finally initiating a host of development projects in Karachi. Pictures emerged on Twitter showing previously battered roads in Karachi undergoing construction.

Last year, Imran Khan dedicated Rs 1.1 trillion to the Karachi Transformation Plan which aims to transform the megacity by launching 100 projects. The Plan was launched in the aftermath of the August 27 heavy rains which wreaked havoc in the city, flooding residents’ homes and causing loss of lives.

When the announcement for Karachi’s development was made, many people were doubtful about its implementations, however, PTI seems to be delivering its promise of re-constructing Karachi.

As per PTI’s official Twitter account, road construction in Shanti Nagar from Sindhi hotel to Lal Sports Football Ground has been completed.

In addition, pictures of several other road constructions in Karachi made the rounds on Twitter. Bilal Ahmed Ghaffar, a member of the Provincial Assembly uploaded a tweet confirming the completion of road carpeting in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

“A long-standing legitimate demand of the residents of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 3 has been fulfilled. Road carpeting work has started in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 19 with the development SDG funds released by Prime Minister Mr. Imran Khan, “his tweet read.

Appreciating efforts

Social media users have appreciated the efforts of MNAs and MPAs, who have taken it upon themselves to personally oversee the constructions. MPA Arsalan Ghumman can be seen overseeing the carpeting of roads in areas of NA243.

One user also claimed that MNA Saif-ur-Rehman from PTI directly answered his complaints regarding road and sewerage issues in the area. Later on, PTI confirmed MNA Saif-ur-Rehman efficiently utilized funds given by PM Khan to install a 700 ft pipeline in Gulshan-e-Ismail society to resolve the long-standing issue of water supply.

According to a Washington based magazine, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has placed Pakistan at the third position in the list of countries facing acute water scarcity, and Karachi, the economic hub of Pakistan, is the only city within the country that receives water from a source 150 kilometers away.

As Karachites rejoice over the developments, stark comparisons are being made between PTI and PPP, where the latter is facing criticisms for failing to re-construct the city.
