The filter appeared accidentally but the netizens could not resist themselves from mocking the minister and his team members. Throughout the press conference, the cat’s ears and whiskers appeared on the face of Yousafzai and other ministers. It was a glitch on behalf of the person running the live stream press conference. It, however, seems to be an attempt by the ministry to innovate the style of addressing the journalists.

Soon after the press conference, the screenshots from the live stream went viral on social media. The press conference turned into a funny incident despite its serious subject. Provincial Information Minister intended to brief the concerned stakeholders about the previous decisions made by the KPK government.

Journalist Waseem Abbasi, while sharing the screenshot from the live streaming, criticized the KPK for tarnishing the image of Pakistan.

Yesterday, whilst covering a press briefing held by KP’s information minister Shaukat Yousafzai, a cat filter was witnessed by the viewers which was removed within a few minutes.

“Positive image of Pakistan is being promoted though a press conference streamed live on Facebook with a cat filter on ministers of KP province,” wrote Abbasi mockingly in his tweet.

Some of the netizens have expressed their mild views calling it a mere mistake and how the strong reactions are baseless.

Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf, realising the blunder, clarified the incident. They released an official statement on all their social media accounts. Taking to Twitter, the notification read, “Clarification regarding coverage of Press Briefing held by KP’s Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai.”

The statement added, “Yesterday, whilst covering a press briefing held by KP’s information minister Shaukat Yousafzai, a cat filter was witnessed by the viewers which was removed within a few minutes.”
