The faith in Pakistan Army needs to be restored

The faith in Pakistan Army needs to be restored and it can only be done if their leader takes sensible steps to get out of this mess, otherwise, the sanctity of the institution might come into question and that would be God forbid worst for Pakistan.

It is horrifying for our country that an institution responsible for the defense of this country has become so controversial due to allegations and insinuations leveled by political leaders in recent years and currently, and even by journalists.

Very serious allegations have been leveled against the current chief of this institution which involves political engineering, controlling who comes into power and stronghold of all institutions, some even allege, that the independent judiciary can also easily be influenced by their might, hence Supreme Court can open at 12 am if required by them.

Understanding the matter better

The target of these allegations is the chief is responsible to respond to all these allegations in a cordial manner, to the public. I am not suggesting or saying that the allegations mentioned are true. It is the fact that in response, you can only see the ones leveling these allegations are facing heinous fabricated criminal cases, unlawful arrests, illegal detentions, disappearances, threats and violence.

This is not the way to react if you stand in the right and the allegations leveled against you are incorrect. Being the chief of the defense institution of this Country, you must act responsibly and respond to all these allegations and take legal action by lodging defamation proceedings against all the culprits who have leveled these allegations. It is really unfortunate that this is not the way taken, instead, the reaction, which is predominantly led by the use of threats and force suggests that maybe the allegations are true and therefore, the defense chief becomes controversial.

We cannot afford to have the chief of the defense institution of this country face the level of backlash that he has from the public and become so controversial.

He needs to come and give his version of events and answer the allegations, himself. The faith in Pakistan Army needs to be restored and it can only be done if their leader takes sensible steps to get out of this mess, otherwise, the sanctity of the institution he is designated to lead might come into question and that would be God forbid worst for Pakistan.
