Pakistan’s automobile market has seen rapid diversification and expansion in the last few years with the entry of numerous Chinese, British and European auto manufacturers. Previously, customers had to settle for less as the market was dominated by the three Japanese giants, Toyota, Honda and Suzuki. This discouraged competition and offered less variety of automobiles to consumers.
With the launch of companies like DFSK, Haval, Changan and MG, the market has seen a positive change as now customers get value for money and have more options to choose from – especially in the SUV category.
The Great Wall Motors in partnership with Sazgar Engineering Works limited has launched Haval Jolion SUV in Pakistan. Currently there are completely built units (CBUs) coming in from China – and the local dealership has already started accepting bookings for its futuristic vehicle.
The vehicle has a 1.5L turbocharged engine that is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Jolion has an adaptive cruise control, a traction control and a paddle shift. It comes with four driving modes, seventeen inches alloy wheels and automatic headlights. If we look at the interior we find fabric seats, a large infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree panoramic camera (features vary with trim level).
Although there are currently five versions of Haval Jolio being offered in China, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has only decided to import the higher trim levels for Pakistani consumers.
The CBU of Haval Jolion costs 5,525,000 PKR in Pakistan.
Haval H6 comes powered with a 1.5L turbocharged engine (just like Jolion) and offers 147 horsepower and 230 Nm torque. However, it’s priced higher – at 6,295,000 PKR.
The compact SUV comes with a 7-speed DCT transmission and offers four driving modes, including Sport, Economy, Snow, and Standard. It has 18 inches alloy wheels.
On the safety side, Haval H6 has six airbags, electronic parking brake, anti-collision system, driver drowsiness detection, auto crash unlock and many more features to protect you and your loved ones!
H6 has Daytime running lamps, just like any other latest vehicle, LED headlights and fog lamps.
Changan’s Uni-T comes powered by a 1500cc turbocharged engine and produces 180 horsepower and 298 NM torque. The 1.5 L engine is paired with a seven-speed DCT transmission.
The first look of the compact SUV gives away the impression of a very futuristic vehicle but it isn’t just cosmetic beauty – they vehicle actually boasts considerable highly advanced features like Artificial Intelligence (AI) for automated driving and a wide range of assistance features.
On the safety side, Changan appears to have extensively focused as it offers features like ABS + EBD, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist, Hill Descent Control, Blind Spot Assist, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).
As the vehicle is yet to launch, we have no confirmation of the price as yet. But rest assured, as soon as we have an update, we’ll share with our esteemed readers.
