No visas, no jobs: IG Punjab threatens youth with negative character certificates

IG Punjab said that international visas and jobs are issued on the basis of police character certificates and verification. However, he warned the youth that a record is being made against all the miscreants.

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has threatened the Pakistani youth with negative police character certificates which would create hurdles in obtaining international visas and employment.

Political chaos erupted in Pakistan after the arrest of PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. PTI supporters took to the streets to protest the arrest and reports of clashes between the public and police also emerged.

The dire situation escalated as the public expressed their anger by destroying civil and military property, burning tires on the streets, and even setting fire to the building of Radio Pakistan in Peshawar and the Corp Commander House in Lahore.

While reacting to the vandalism, IG Punjab said that international visas and jobs are issued on the basis of police character certificates and verification. However, talking about the character certificates IG Punjab warned the youth that a record is being made against all the miscreants, and due to the negative record, they will not receive any visas or any employment opportunities.

IG Punjab further urged the parents to not send their children to the protests as it would ruin their future, making all their education pointless.

“On the basis of character certificate, police verification certificate, the youth will get jobs and the women will get visas. All the record is being made against them inshallah it will prove that they will never get any jobs and any visas,” IG Punjab said.

The government has strongly condemned the public reaction to Imran Khan’s arrest. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the lawbreakers will be dealt with iron hands. He said that recent incidents of damaging public and private properties is an attack on the country.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army has pledged a ‘strong response’ if further attacks on military and state installations are carried out by miscreants. After attacks on army installations by miscreants, the military’s media wing said that May 9 will be remembered as a black chapter in history.
