Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor reveal their baby name

Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt revealed the name of their baby daughter on Thursday in a social media post.

The baby girl has been named, Raha. The name has been selected by the grandmother, says Alia Bhatt in a social media post.

“Raha, in its purest form means divine path, in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla – rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss,” wrote Alia Bhatt in the Instagram post. “And true to her name, from the first moment we held her – we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun,” she added further.

The couple announced the pregnancy back in June this year. Alia Bhatt shared the picture from the hospital where she was having her check-up. Ranbir Kapoor was also seen in the picture.

The Instagram post shows the couple watching the sonogram in the hospital with the screen blurred and a heart emoticon posted on it. The caption on the post of Alia Bhatt reads: “Our baby….. coming soon.”

Felicitations started pouring in for the couple on social media. Mouni Roy, the co-star from Brahmastra commented on the post and said: “Immensely happy” with a heart emoticon. Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan also commented on the post. She said: “congratulations mama and papa lion.”

Other Bollywood celebrities including Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra, Tiger Shroff, and Parineeti Chopra also congratulated the couple.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot in April in what was being dubbed one of the biggest weddings in the Indian film industry. Many stars were among close family and friends at the low-key event, held at the couple’s Mumbai home. The actors are among the most popular faces of Bollywood, with millions of fans the world over.
