APTMA Elects New Vice Chairman

Rehman Naseem, Chief Executive Officer of Fazal Group, has been elected as the vice chairman of APTMA (All Pakistan Textile Mills Association) for 2022-23. He will take over the leadership of Pakistan’s largest textile manufacturers and exporting Association in the first week of October 2022.

Mr. Naseem brings to this charge vast industry and management experience. He has served in diverse public enterprises in various capacities. He has acted as the director of Multan Electric Company, Punjab Industrial Estate, Punjab Thermal Power Company, Quaid-e-Azam Solar Power Company, and most recently, as chairman of Ch. Pervaiz Ellahi Institute of Cardiology.

Mr. Naseem is the CEO of Fazal Group, one of Pakistan’s oldest and most respected business groups, with interests in textile, agriculture, and trading businesses. The Group’s turnover for FY-22 was over Rs. 100 billion, including exports of Rs. 40 billion. It employs 8,400 people and has been operating since 1936. Fazal Group enjoys a stellar reputation with factories and main offices all around Multan. The Group owns and operates one of Pakistan’s largest spinning and weaving businesses, with 375,000 Spindles, 8,760 Open End Rotors, 1,752 Air Jet Spindles, and 720 Air Jet Looms.

Under the leadership of Mr. Naseem, Fazal Group has taken an active part in social welfare. In addition to annual donations to various charitable institutions, it has constructed and operates a 50 beds hospital under the name of “Fazal Rehman Foundation,” which provides free medical services to deserving people. The Group also runs and finances several other social welfare programs.

Mr. Naseem completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics and Management from Columbia University in New York. He joined the textile business in 1992 and has served in various positions before being promoted to CEO of Fazal Group. He has served on the Boards of different Public Sector Enterprises on a Pro Bono basis. He has also been a member of the Executive Committee of APTMA and served as its Senior Vice Chairman.
