Asif Raza Mir to feature in HBO’s ‘Gangs of London’

Pakistani actor Asif Raza Mir is set to appear in upcoming HBO series “Gangs of London”. The wife of actor shared the news on her Instagram account.

The series will be directed by Gareth Evans, who directed “Evans”. The upcoming series “Gangs of London” will be based on the present-day London that is under the power struggle of international criminal organizations. The show will be a 10-episode series while the release date of the series is yet to be announced.

According to Den of Geek, Evans has described Gangs of London as “a multicultural world of global crime as it intersects on the streets of London.”

The series will show the deteriorating condition of law and order in the city brought about after the death of a leader of leading a criminal organization. The death of the leader creates a power vacuum in the city that incites warfare and power rife between different criminal groups of the underworld.

The series will also star Michelle Fairley, Mark Lewis Jones, Jing Lusi, Brian Vernel, Richard Harrington, and Emmett J Scanlan. Earlier, in October it was revealed that Corin Hardy would be directing the three episodes of the ‘Gangs of London’ after his the success of his recent directorial venture the horror movie ‘The Nun’.

As Hardy expressed in an October statement: “Gareth and I share a mutual appreciation of each other’s work and an affinity for genre cinema, so it’s a real honor to become part of his and Matt’s intricate web of crime in their new show Gangs of London. The multi-layered story weaves emotional drama with blistering action set pieces which I found enthralling to read. I am looking forward to bringing something rich and cinematic to the city streets.”

Now, Xavier Gens of Hitman, The Divide has been roped in to direct the two episodes that will reduce the workload of Evan.
