The cricketer also released a video message on social media expressing gratitude to the Sindh provincial government for honoring him.

Biography of former cricketer Sarfaraz Ahmed has been added to the fourth grade of the Urdu syllabus. Sarfaraz Ahmed shared the picture of the page from the textbook on his official Twitter account on Friday.

In his Twitter post, he said, “Thank you! This is a big honor for me. As role models, we endeavor to inspire children. I would always be there to play my part in this efforts.@SindhGovt1@sindhBoard.”

The cricketer also released a video message on social media expressing gratitude to the Sindh provincial government for honoring him. Sarfaraz Ahmed is being hailed as the skipper of Pakistan who lead the Pakistan cricket team to the historic triumphs in the Champion Trophy in 2007 over arch-rival India. He is currently not part of the Pakistan Cricket Team of any format. He also won the Under 19 Cricket World Cup for Pakistan in 2006.

Lately, Sarfaraz Ahmed came under a lot of pressure and criticism from the Pakistan cricket fans for underperformance in the matches. Resultantly, he was dropped from the playing XI squad.

Cricket fans supported him when images of him carrying drinks for the junior players on the ground went viral on social media. Fans asked team management to give due respect to Sarfaraz Ahmed even if he is having challenging days as a player.

Earlier this year, Babar Azam had said that he seeks the advice of Sarfaraz Ahmed when he faces a tough situation as a skipper. He expressed these views at a dinner hosted by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to honor the players for their outstanding performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. The ceremony was organized at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
