Captain Basit Ali, Sepoy Bilal embrace martyrdom in Kurram operation

Captain Basit Ali, 25, and Sepoy Hazrat Bilal embraced martyrdom following a heavy exchange of fire between militants and security agencies during a rescue operation in the Zewa area of Kurram tribal district.

Social media is paying a heartfelt tribute to Captain Basit Ali who embraced martyrdom during a rescue operation in Kurram Agency on Tuesday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in an official statement that three militants were killed during an operation conducted in an area after receiving information of their presence.

Captain Basit Ali, 25, and Sepoy Hazrat Bilal embraced martyrdom. Captain Basit Ali hailed from Haripur district and Sepoy Bilal hailed from Orakzai tribal district.

Three other personnel from Frontier Core sustained injuries. Military officers were conducting a search operation to rescue the workers of a cellular company when an encounter occurred between the militants and military officers on Monday.

Officials say a rescue operation was started in the area when security personnel found the bullet-riddled body of a worker in the Ziamkot area. The five workers of a cellular company were kidnapped when they were installing the tower to start the network service in the area on July 6.

The militant commander who joined the Islamic State group was involved in the kidnapping of the five workers. They said kidnappers released the video footage of the workers demanding ransom money for their release.

Twitter users are paying immense respect to martyred Basit Ali as the news of his martyrdom circulated on social media. His pictures and videos have been circulating on Twitter with people commenting on how brave a soldier he was.

Social media users are also paying rich tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan for risking their lives to protect and save people from the menace of terrorism. They, however, demand serious action from the government to analyze and take steps against the sudden uptick in violence and terrorist activities in Pakistan.
