Debutant Amir Jamal is receiving praise on social media for his spectacular last over in the 5th T20I match against England on Wednesday.

Amir Jamal made his T20I debut against England and took a wicket on the second ball of his international career. Jamal put up an impressive debut performance in the match last night. England needed 15 runs in the last over; Amir Jamal successfully defended the score and restricted the English batters. It was his wide Yorkers that give triumph to Pakistan in the fifth match.

Pakistan won the match by five runs and is leading the series by 3-2. England, after winning the toss, elected to field first; Pakistan playing first, set a target of 146 runs for England to chase. Besides other players, Amir Jamal made his debut in the last overs of the second innings. He claimed a wicket on the second ball of his career. Cricket fans believe it was brave of skipper Babar Azam to give the final over to Amir Jamal and defend the score.

Interestingly, Amir Jamal made his place in the national squad after playing just twelve T20s in National T20 Cup. According to sports journalists, Amir Jamal has been a surprise pick by the selection committee of PCB. Even Chairman PCB Ramiz Raja also praised the performance of Amir Jamal.

In a press conference, Vice Captain Shadab Khan also praised the performance of Amir Jamal. He said that team management would have still backed Amir Jamal even if he had failed to defend the score in the last over. The team aims to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2022
