HBL hands out Rs 3 billion loans under Kamyab Jawan

According to details, HBL disbursed Rs. 3 billion in its first year, surpassing the State Bank of Pakistan's target by 45% in 2021. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar congratulated the bank for the achievement.

In a massive achievement for HBL, the bank disbursed Rs. 3 billion loans under the Kamyab Jawan scheme. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar congratulated the bank for the achievement.

SAPM Usman Dar, along with his team, paid a visit to HBL to meet with senior management of the bank. He congratulated HBL on achieving the milestone of disbursing PKR 3 billion and surpassing State Bank of Pakistan’s target by 45% under the program in 2021.

Usman Dar shared a 2-year progress report of the program and appreciated HBL’s contribution and vision towards the SME sector.

Muhammad Aurangzeb, President & CEO – HBL, commenting on the occasion said, “HBL’s contribution towards affordable finance programs offered by the Government is a testament to the Bank’s commitment to facilitate the SME sector in Pakistan. The Kamyab Jawan program enables HBL to increase its penetration in the SME sector while playing its part to drive the national agenda of financial inclusion in the country.”

To clarify, the PTI government’s top priority has been to empower the youth of Pakistan. As a result, the government committed over 110bn rupees to the flagship Kamyab Jawan Program, which will channel loans and financial aid to young Pakistanis.

In November 2021, Federal Finance Ministry chose three leading commercial banks of Pakistan for the disbursement of soft loans under the landmark Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP). As a result, HBL became one of the three banks that received the responsibility of disbursing soft loans under KPP.

Important to note, easy access to loans under the Kamyab Jawan Program encourages Pakistani youth to move towards self-employment. It is worth mentioning, that according to the Kamyab Jawan official website, 64,108 jobs were created.

HBL supports SMEs

HBL, which is Pakistan’s largest bank, has always supported businesses in Pakistan by providing reliable financial solutions. Last month, it announced that it will provide collateral-free financing at subsidized markup rates to facilitate the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

To clarify, the initiative falls under the Government of Pakistan’s recently launched ‘SME Asaan Finance’ (SAAF) scheme. Through HBL SAAF Finance, the bank will support the SMEs, providing them with efficient financing solutions. Furthermore, this initiative will enable SMEs to expand their business through easy and convenient loan processing. It requires minimal documentation, and a markup rate as low as 9 percent.

Moreover, this initiative will result in clients getting easy access to credit for new businesses at highly subsidized rates.
