Imran Khan vows to hold Sialkot rally no matter what

PTI Chairman Imran Khan condemned the Sialkot incident that took place earlier today. He then lashed out at the PML-N government for abusing their power and being a "fascist government."

The recent incident at Sialkot has not deterred PTI Chairman Imran Khan who has asserted that he will go to Sialkot for the PTI rally. Taking to Twitter, the former prime minister criticized the incumbent government for stopping PTI jalsa in Sialkot.

To clarify, a heavy contingent of police reached the venue and cordoned off the ground in Sialkot today to stop preparations for the PTI rally. Police began to overthrow the ground with heavy machinery at the PTI gathering.

However, PTI workers resisted when the goods were removed. On this occasion, PTI leader Usman Dar along with his workers lay down in front of the machinery. He said that this machinery would pass over us. As a result, a clash broke out. The police began using force. They fired tear gas to disperse the workers and arrested Usman Dar, along with 40 PTI workers.

Criticism for PML-N govt

Due to the police actions in Sialkot, netizens reacted heavily and slammed the authorities. PTI Chairman Imran Khan too condemned the incident in a series of tweets.

“I will be going to Sialkot today, let there be no doubt,” Imran Khan warned. “What imported government did in Sialkot against our leadership and workers is outrageous, but not unexpected.”

He then lashed out at the PML-N government for abusing their power and being a fascist government.

“This bunch of criminals out on bail and their convict mafia boss in London have always used fascist tactics against opponents when they are in power – storming of SC, Model Town murders, bribing judges, Nawaz Sharif trying to declare himself Amir ul Momineen. They use and abuse democracy when in opposition and totally destroy all democratic norms when in power. But people have no risen against them,” the PTI leader said.

Not holding back, the PTI leader asserted that he will go to Sialkot. He also urged his followers to come out on the streets and protest against the government.

“Our government never stopped any of their jalsas, sit-ins, rallies because we are committed to democracy. I will be in Sialkot today and I am calling on all our people to come out and protest in their areas/cities after Isha prayers against this fascist imported government,” Imran Khan said.

Pertinent to mention, the district administration of Sialkot had rejected PTI’s request for holding a rally at the CTI ground after the Christian community raised objections over the PTI’s scheduled meeting at their property. Taking action on the request of the minority community, the police have got the CTI ground vacated.
