Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi shared a snap of live chat with Esra Bilgic on Wednesday night. Afridi posted a snapshot of interacting with the Turkish actress Esra Bilgic on Instagram last night.
The picture drew immense attention from social media users who are still anticipating what Afridi is planning with Bilgic in regards to his franchise. Fans asked him if the interaction with Bilgic was related to any upcoming plan for Peshawar Zalmi. A few users commented that it was a regular chat with her.
A score of his followers outpoured love and appreciation for Afridi and Bilgic on Twitter despite uncertainty surrounding Bilgic’s connection with Javed Afridi and Peshawar Zalmi.
The snapshot gained extraordinary popularity following a message dropped by Bilgic and Afridi on Twitter simultaneously which hinted at a ‘new beginning’.
Both Afridi and Bilgic had tweeted about a cryptic message of a possible new beginning’ on their official Twitter accounts earlier this month.
The tweets triggered the interest of the fans and followers of Peshawar Zalmi and Bilgic in Pakistan. Perhaps, the words of Afridi are coming true when he hinted at hiring Bilgic as the brand ambassador of Peshawar Zalmi, a franchise of the Pakistan Super League. Bilgic had also announced last July that she would soon share the good news with Zalmi fans.
Last month, she had posted a picture of Islamia College Peshawar with the caption, City of Flowers, pointing to her expected arrival in Pakistan soon. She posted the image on her Twitter and Instagram. Following her, Javed Afridi, the CEO of Haier Pakistan and owner of Peshawar Zalmi also shared her tweet on his Twitter account. In a separate post, Afridi also tweeted: City of Flowers.
Fans anticipated that perhaps Afridi will hire Bilgic as the brand ambassador for his team. However, a few days ago he announced Pakistani actress Mahira Khan as the brand ambassador for his team.
Afridi took to Twitter and informed the fans and followers of the latest development. “PLEASURE TO ANNOUNCE @TheMahiraKhan AS @PeshawarZalmi’s BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR PSL 6,” said Afridi in a tweet.
This is not the first stint of Mahira Khan with Peshawar Zalmi as she has worked with the franchise in one of the previous editions.
Back in 2018, the franchise had appointed Mahira Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi as their brand ambassadors for the third edition of the Pakistan Super League where Mahira Khan had replaced Humaima Malick as the brand ambassador for Peshawar Zalmi.
