After hard efforts, he was able to land in Germany for treatment. His health was fast deteriorating and Germany allowed his air ambulance to be landed on humanitarian grounds. He was intended to travel to the USA initially but had to make an emergency landing in Germany as his health worsened. His wife, Ghazal Umar, said that he developed fever due to weariness.

Germany granted a 15-day visa on an emergency basis to Umar Sharif and his wife Ghazal Umar. She had thanked the authorities for granting them visas without delay.

The government of Pakistan had facilitated the foreign travel of popular comedian Umar Sharif for treatment to the USA. A video clip of Umar Sharif has gone viral two weeks ago appealing to the government of Pakistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan to facilitate his travel to the USA for treatment.

Renowned journalist Waseem Badami had visited him and played his video message in his talk show. He had also appealed to PM Imran Khan to take notice of his health. According to Shahbaz Gill, Special Assistant to PM, Imran Khan has taken notice of Umar Sharif’s request.
