11-year-old art prodigy Shah Khan, who hails from Mardan, and recently presented a portrait to Turkish actor Cavit Cetin Guner, says he made his first portrait of Allama Iqbal at the age of 6. Shah made the remarks in an interview with Hum TV on Wednesday.
Khan is a tremendous sketch artist at such a young age. He presented an impeccable portrait of Turkish actor Guner or Dogan Alp from Dirilis Ertugrul on his visit to Islamabad last week. The boy has painted and gifted sketches to other renowned celebrities, including former West Indian skipper Darren Sammy.
Khan even runs his Instagram account under the handle, Shah Khan Little Artist. So far, he has sketched incredible portraits of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri. He has even met and presented the portrait to Suri.
In an interesting interview with hosts Shiffa Yousafzai and Ovais Mangalwala, the boy recounted how he stopped sketching after discouraging comments from peers. He said he stopped sketching to focus on his studies but later resumed when he got to know that the Saudi Crown Prince has spent millions to buy the famous painting of Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci.
The boy seems to have magic in his hands as he sketches fine portraits of celebrities and social personalities without any formal training. The hosts exhibited portraits of Ertugrul actors Khan had sketched. Khan also narrated his meeting with a Turkish actor. He said the Ertugrul star thanked him and expressed gratitude to him for a wonderful portrait. Guner gifted Khan his signed teacup.
Today’s programme highlights!!! Thank you Shah Khan for these lovely sketches – wish you all the best to become Pakistan’s picasso 💖
