I feel honored to congratulate the Chinese nation on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. Since its establishment, Pakistan and China have been enjoying excellent relations. China is our closest friend who has always stood by Pakistan at difficult times.

In the past seven decades, China has achieved phenomenal progress in every sphere of life with few parallels in history. From an agrarian society in the 1950s, China has today emerged as the world’s second-largest economy.

During these years, China has brought about intense changes in its economic, technological, industrial, and decision-making institutions, enabling it to assume a leading role in global affairs.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is an embodiment of long-standing friendship and a fine example of practical cooperation between two time-tested friends. CPEC is a historic project that has the ability to reshape the socio-economic outlook of Pakistan.

This multi-dimensional project has now entered into the second phase, where our focus will remain on further expanding the scope of the project through industrialization and reforms in the agriculture sector. Infrastructure and energy projects are now in the consolidation phase, which will provide impetus to the ongoing industrial and agriculture growth through CPEC.

It is pertinent to mention here that despite all the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic, from the beginning of 2020, China and Pakistan have managed to work together and achieve progress in all areas of cooperation under CPEC, including Gwadar, energy, transportation infrastructure, industrial cooperation, social and economic development, agriculture, science, and technology. There should be no doubt in anybody’s mind about China-Pakistan friendship and successful completion of CPEC at any cost.
