Murad Raas asks Palestinians to use guns instead of stones

Murad Raas' recent tweet has caused quite a stir on social media. In the tweet, he asks Palestinians to counter Israelis with guns instead of stones. A section of Twitter users, however, reacted strongly and demanded the minister to resign for his inappropriate statement on a sensitive issue.

Punjab Education Minister, Murad Raas, has advised Palestinians to buy guns to defend themselves against Israel. He is receiving flak on social media for his bizarre tweet on the ongoing bout of the Israel-Palestine conflict that began last week.

His irresponsible remarks on the ongoing conflict have irked several Pakistani social media users who demanded him to take down his tweet. The education minister Murad Raas advised that Palestinians should equip themselves with guns to counter the Israeli forces instead of pelting stones at them during the confrontation.

He further questioned that there where does all the support money provided to Palestine goes because while Israel has advanced war machinery and equipment, Palestinians resort to stone for their self-defense.

“It is shocking to see that Israel has always been armed to the teeth but Palestinians are using Stones for decades. Where does all the Palestine support money go? Why can’t they buy a single gun to defend themselves? Being bombed and shot – 2021 still using stones???,” wrote Murad Raas in his tweet.

Disillusioned Pakistani social media users questioned Murad Raas if Palestinians will be able to confront Israeli forces equipped with advanced military equipment with a single gun.

Others commented that Palestinians will not be able to protect themselves against the military might of Israel with a ‘single gun’. Following this will only exacerbate the hardships and Palestinians would be labeled as ‘terrorists’ and ‘militants’ by the international community.

A section of Twitter users, however, reacted strongly and demanded the minister to resign for his inappropriate statement on a sensitive issue. They asked the Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf to take notice of his statements as it may bring an international backlash to Pakistan.

A few expressed astonishment at the level of insight exhibited by the education minister of the biggest province in Pakistan. Internet users have advised the minister to exercise caution when commenting on a sensitive subject on a public platform.
