Nawaz Sharif joins Twitter

Nawaz Sharif has gained 45,000 followers on Twitter upon the creation of his account. Nawaz Sharif has created his account hours before the APC

Ever since his departure from the country, Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has avoided the public and remained rather quiet. But he has returned into the world with a Twitter account in a bid to stay connected with Pakistani.

Nawaz, in his first post, wrote,”Vote ko izzat do [Sanctity of vote] with an emoji of a Pakistan flag.

#TwitterWelcomesNawaz Sharif remained trending on Pakistani twitter for hours as the former prime minister gained 45,000 followers.

Maryum Nawaz, his daughter also announced his account creation on her own twitter on which she has been very vocal.

“Happy and privileged to announce that in order to stay connected to the people of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif has decided to join Twitter. His Twitter handle is @NawazSharifMNS #TwitterWelcomesNawazSharif,” she wrote.

An accountability court last week issued arrest warrants for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in illegal land allotment case, ARY News reported.

Sharif is facing accusations of illegal allotment of land as the then Punjab CM to Mir Shakil ur Rehman.

The hearing was presided over by AC Judge Asad Ali, in which editor-in-chief of Jang Group of Newspapers and owner of Geo News Mir Shakil ur Rahman was produced before the court.

Accountability Court Judge Asad Ali conducted the case proceedings, wherein former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general Humayun Faiz and former LDA  Director Land Development Mian Bashir Ahmed appeared on being summoned by the court.

To which, National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Special Prosecutor Haris Qureshi told the court that the accused were not being produced in the courts due to COVID-19.

The court also noted that the process server had submitted its report and it was stated that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was not available on the given address and he had gone to London.
