Nikkah pictures of Lt. General Asif Ghafoor’s son goes viral

Saad Ghafoor, son of Quetta’s Corps Commander Lt. Gen Asif Ghafoor, ties the knot in an intimate Nikkah ceremony in a mosque. Not many details are available regarding the event. The Nikkah ceremony was held in Islamabad with close family members in attendance. Religious scholar Saqib Raza Mustafai solemnized the Nikkah ceremony. Pictures suggest his son Saad Ghafoor is quite young.

He rose to prominence when he was appointed as the spokesperson of the Pakistan Army. Pakistanis enjoyed his outspoken, bold, and courageous responses to nemesis. Asif Ghafoor was appreciated for bravely presenting Pakistan’s view during the India-Pakistan standoff in 2019.

Lt. Gen Asif Ghafoor was appointed Commander 12 Corps following the martyrdom of Lt. Gen Sarfaraz in a helicopter crash in Balochistan. He was among the six Maj Generals of the Pakistan Army promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in 2020.

The officers promoted include Major-General Akhtar Nawaz, Major-General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, Major-General Asif Ghafoor, Major-General Salman Fayyaz, Major-General Sarfraz Ali, and Major-General Muhammad Ali.

“Promotions in the #Army: 6 Major Generals have been promoted to the Rank of Lieutenant General. Those promoted include MG Akhtar Nawaz, MG Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, MG Asif Ghafoor, MG Salman Fayyaz Ghani, MG Sarfraz Ali, MG Muhammad Ali,” wrote ISPR in a tweet.

Major General Babar Iftikhar replaced him as the new DG ISPR. Asif Ghafoor was appointed DG ISPR back in 2016, and upon finishing his tenure as head of the military’s information wing, he was posted as GOC 40th Infantry Division in Okara.
