Pakistan Post introduces Western Union among new services

Pakistan Post have also partnered with Amazon as official delivery partner.

Pakistan Economic Survey 2020-21 issued by the Finance Minister on Thursday in Islamabad, Pakistan Post has recently taken important initiatives to provide efficient postal services to the people across the country.

Those postal services including same Day Delivery Services, Electronic Money Order (EMO) at doorstep, Pakistan Post Mobile Application, Express Mail Service (Plus), Pakistan Post E-Commerce Initiative, Partnership with NADRA, Computerized Pension Payment System, Western Union (WU), Money Transfer Service Pakistan Post and PPOD-NBP International Remittance Service.

Pakistan Post, in collaboration with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), provides payment of disburses foreign remittances under NBP’s remittance service, through 500 designated post offices across the country.

Pakistan Post, under an Agency Agreement with Western Union also provides international remittance services under the Western Union Money Transfer Service through 2,094 post offices in the country.

Pakistan Post had launched its e-commerce initiative in February 2019 on pakpostshop.gov.pk. Registrations were sought in the following categories: a. Delivery Partner, b. Sale through Postal Counter, c. Collect and return services and, d. Co-branding Partner.

Pakistan Post becomes Amazon’s official delivery partner

Just weeks after Amazon opened up its platform to Pakistani sellers, Pakistan Post, the state-run mailing enterprise has announced its partnership with the global e-commerce giant – Amazon.

The news of the collaboration between Amazon and Pakistan Post, with the latter taking up the role of official delivery partner, was made public through an official handout released to the media on Tuesday.

According to sources, Director General of Post Office has already constituted a team of relevant officials to mobilize resources for the said indulgence. It has also been reported that senior officials from nine big cities of the country have been appointed to facilitate local traders and businessmen in selling their products on the e-commerce giant.
