Pakistani cricketers support Indian cricket team amid backlash

Pakistani cricketers like Muhammad Amir, Azhar Ali, and others have expressed concerns over the vitriol, backlash being directed at Virat Kohli and other Indian players. They have shown an exemplary attitude as they support the Indian cricket team on social media.

Pakistani cricketers have come in support of the Indian team amid intense backlash from the fans on social media.

Indian team is in the crosshair of social media fans after they repeatedly lost their matches to Pakistan and New Zealand in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Pakistani cricketers like Muhammad Amir, Azhar Ali, and others have expressed concerns over the vitriol, backlash being directed at Virat Kohli and other Indian players.

In a tweet, Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Amir said that “I still believe India is the best team it is just a matter of having a good time or bad time but abusing player’s and their family is such a shame don’t forget the end of the day it’s just a game of cricket.”

Tweet of Muhammad Amir came a few days after his fierce Twitter spat with Harbhajan Singh.

“It’s not looking good for India.. but we all want India to stay in the tournament. This early exit of India won’t be good for the event #INDvsNZ #ICCT20WorldCup,” wrote Azhar Ali in a tweet.

Meanwhile, star player Shahid Afridi also expressed concerns about the stark performance of the Indian cricket team. In a tweet he said, “India still has an outside chance of qualifying for semis but with how they have played their two big games in the event, it will be nothing but a miracle to see them qualify,” said Shahid Afridi in a tweet.

Before the beginning of the match, Shoaib Akhtar had called for supporting India against New Zealand. He posted a video on his Twitter account and said that India has to win the match against New Zealand to ensure their reach to the semi-finals.

He was left disappointed as India lost miserably to New Zealand. Akhtar said that the Indian cricket team lacked a game plan and strategy as to how they had to play against New Zealand.
