Notwithstanding his jingoism and hateful sentiments against Pakistan, he was warmly welcomed by the Pakistani government. Deol was treated as a state guest and even accompanied PM Khan’s group that headed for the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor.

The group included notable dignitaries from both the countries including Navjoth Singh Sidhu, FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Indian Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh, Special Assistant to PM on Information Firdaus Ashiq Awan, Federal Minister for Religious Affair and Inter-faith harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and PM’s friend Aneel Musarrat and Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.
Pakistani Twitter users appreciated PM Khan’s and FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s robust speeches on Kashmir’s issue slamming the Indian government in front of Sunny Deol. Some even compared Deol’s fiery character from the ‘Border‘ movie with his calm disposition when he sat during the inauguration ceremony of the corridor, in Pakistan. During the ceremony, he was seen seated beside Usman Buzdar and Twitter users could not resist poking fun at them.

Some trolled him for counting the anti-Pakistani movies he did while listening to the speeches.
Sunny Deol in his media interactions appreciated the Kartarpur Corridor initiative calling it a threshold for the peace between the two countries. Deol with his presence and calm disposition amused the Pakistani social media users owing to his inclination towards ultra-nationalistic rhetoric towards Pakistan.
I hope, just like #SunnyDeol, India comes out of Bollywood fantasy and Pakistan phobia.

The whole life this Bollywood actor #SunnyDeol kept making films against Pakistan 🇵🇰and being part of Indian propaganda against Pakistan. Today he must be feeling regret for what nonsense he had been doing all his life.

Earlier on the question of his visit to Pakistan, Deol said “If I won’t go, who will? I’ll definitely go. It is my area and my home,” to Indian media.
Sunny Deol, is a BJP lawmaker from Gurdaspur who had sought permission from the leadership to travel to Pakistan. Besides him, former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress legislator Navjoth Singh Sidhu are also accompanying the first batch of the Sikh pilgrims.
