Pervez Elahi returns home after 11 months in prison

He is among the key leaders of PTI who were arrested following a crackdown on the party in the aftermath of the May 9th incident.

Pictures of Former CM Punjab Pervez Elahi after his release emerged on social media on Tuesday night. Pervez Ilahi reached home after spending 11 months in prison. His bail was approved on Monday after being released from Kot Lakhpat jail.

Currently, the PTI President, Lahore High Court approved his bail in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitment case. Following his release, he reached his home in Lahore. Pictures of him with his family members circulated on social media. Lahore High Court Judge Justice Sultan Tanvir gave the verdict of his release.

He is among the key leaders of PTI who were arrested following a crackdown on the party in the aftermath of the May 9th incident. Pervez Ilahi was arrested outside his residence on June 1, 2023.

In a statement released, he said he is thankful to God for keeping him steadfast. Adding that, he was, is, and will remain with Imran Khan. Ilahi said that the people of Gujrat faced immense brutality and persecution. Talks with the children of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will not happen until they return their stolen mandate. “Thanks be to God for vindicating me.” He added, “May Allah grant me the strength to persevere.” He accused Mohsin Naqvi of injustices against him. The court has ordered a further inquiry into the case.

Upon his return, Pervez Elahi received appreciation from fellow party members. “Congratulations to Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, @MoonisElahi6, and his family. Chaudhary created a new story of loyalty. Soon all the captives including Imran Khan, and Shah Mehmood Qureshi will have to be released if the courts hear all the cases on Marriott then all these cases will be dismissed. This country will move forward only when the rule of law and constitution is established in this country,” said Asad Qaiser.
