PML-N to oust Punjab CM Parvez Elahi with no-confidence motion

It is expected that PML-N will submit the no-confidence motion against Parvez Elahi and Sibtain Khan in the next 36 hours.

In a major development, PML-N has decided to table the no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi and Punjab Assembly Speaker Muhammad Sibtain Khan.

According to the details, 106 provincial lawmakers of the PML-N gathered at the residence of Rana Mashood where they signed the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Parvez Elahi and Speaker Sibtain Khan.

It is expected that the party will submit the no-confidence motion against Parvez Elahi and Sibtain Khan in the next 36 hours.

Ever since PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to dissolve the dissolution of Punjab and KPK assemblies, the political situation has become tense, especially in Punjab.

PML-Q and PTI are at odds regarding the dissolution of assemblies. PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan wants Punjab and KPK assemblies dissolved in a bid for early elections and has decided to announce the date for the dissolution of assemblies today at his power show in Liberty Chowk Lahore.

Meanwhile, Parvez Elahi has opposed dissolving the assembly. He has suggested Imran Khan avoid haste in dissolving the assemblies as this would cause complications, and that the matter should be revisited later.

However, PML-N’s decision of bringing the no-confidence motion against Parvez Elahi will create another political crisis in Punjab.

Currently, Chairman Imran Khan is holding a consultative meeting with party leaders at Zaman Park regarding the dissolution of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.

The meeting is being attended by senior PTI leadership including Vice President Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Parvez Khattak, Shibli Faraz, Ali Amin Gandapur, and others. Chief Minister Parvez Elahi has also reached Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence ahead of the Lahore rally.

During the meeting, the party leadership is expected to finalise the speech of today’s jalsa and the prevailing political situation.
