Police arrests teacher in Jhelum for beating up two girls after video goes viral

The heart-wrenching viral video shows the teacher mercilessly beating the girls. One of the girls collapsed after being tortured.

Police on Wednesday claims to have arrested a teacher who beat and tortured two girls in a school in Jhelum. The matter surfaced after Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda shared the video of the teacher beating the girls on his Twitter account.

The minister condemned the act and asserted that he has asked DPO Jhelum to arrest the school teacher. Soon the authorities swung into action and arrested the teacher. The teacher named Abu Bakar has been arrested and a case has been registered against him.

Teacher mercilessly beats up young girls

The heart-wrenching viral video shows the teacher mercilessly beating the girls. Unable to bear the torture, the girl is seen crying loudly out of fear and pain. One of the girls collapsed after being tortured by the teacher.

Taking to Twitter, Faisal Vawda appreciated the police for taking swift action. Earlier in the day, Faisal Vawda had tweeted that “these corporal punishments (beating, shaming) scar our children’s minds forever! Just received this video. Unacceptable behavior. I’m on it. Have instructed DPO Jehlum to arrest him now. If need be I will register an FIR.”  Vawda informed the teacher is in jail now.

Last month, Karachi Police had arrested two seminary teachers for beating up two girls after a video went viral on social media. It was revealed during the investigation that the video was old. The incident was reported in the Mominabad area of the city.

The accused Qari Farid was seen beating the two minor girls in the viral video. Police also informed that during the investigation they found that another teacher Qari Ali Syed had tortured a six-year-old child named Hamza who even had torture marks on his body.

Spokesman Sindh Government Murtaza Wahab had shared a copy of the FIR on Twitter account as well.
