Skipper Babar Azam says Muhammad Rizwan is a true warrior for him. The all-format captain Azam praised Rizwan, his opening partner, for his ongoing performance in the Asia Cup 2022.
Babar Azam said that Rizwan was playing extravagantly despite the injury. He also said that Rizwan is feeling well and was sent for an MRI scan at the hospital. He is doing well now.
Azam recalled how Muhammad Rizwan was admitted to the hospital before the T20 World Cup semi-final match in UAE last year. Despite that, he played brilliantly against Australia in the match.
Skipper said he is proud to have a player like Rizwan in the team. He called Muhammad Rizwan a ‘warrior’ while talking to the media in UAE. “I feel proud to have warriors like Rizwan,” he said.
Talking about the match against India, he said, “After playing against India, our morale is high; we have planned to play with the same momentum in the next matches.”

Skipper mentioned that the current team is a pool of talented players; there is a new player in the match in every game.

Babar added that whatever plan he gives to the team, they follow it. “I have learned a lot while being a captain; it will continue as it is,” said Babar.
Both Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan are the top scorers in the T20 format. Babar has underperformed in the past three consecutive matches; he is hopeful to get back in form soon. As per the new ranking, Babar needs to score big in the upcoming matches to maintain his top position in the ICC rankings.
